Overheard

We took a road trip wtih Moxie last weekend to Maine. As we were getting Moxie into the car ...

Older lady #1: Oh look a puppy!
Older lady #2: But it's ... kinda chunky...

That said Moxie made lotsa friends on this trip. A poodle named Susie ;), a black German shepard that looks like Pasha, 2 girls on their way to a wedding, and a black lab named Bailey.

I no chunky. I big boned! Woof!

Presidential Vacation Spot #1

We headed out to Martha's Vineyard last weekend. MV is Clinton's summer vacation spot of choice. Strangely, we hadn't visited even though it's only an hour car ride + 1 hr ferry ride from here. I thought MV would be like Nantucket which we visited a couple years back, you know preppy, waspy, rich. I was pleasantly surprised though that MV was more inclusive.

So yah, I don't think my attempt to look jcrew really fit in haha

I was bummed that the weather was miserable, rainy, and cold on Friday. We were all sporting the latest in plastic bag fashion. Though it's been soooo hot the past 2 days, I'm not sure which I would have preferred ....

Miit the Famiily

Wii Fit is the best game investment I've made. I get bored easily so I was really quite surprised that I spend as much time as I do on this. I suppose it's the combination of the enjoyable exercises (my favorite is step!), wanting to beat DH at it, and a naggy Wii Fit Board. It's funny, bordering on irritating when the cartoon version of the Wii Fit Board shames you on your weight gain or tells you that you lack a sense of balance hrmmm .....

Anyway I wanted to share this photo of my Wii Fit family. The rents are in town so there're 4 of us! We spent quite a bit of time designing our mini-mes so that it'd be realistic. Even the heights are accurate! Can you guess who is who?

Robin's Egg Blue

I was excited by what my cousin found in her garden! A robin's nest ... wow now it all makes sense. I'd always known the color Robin's Egg Blue but never made the connection. Guess I am still a FOB at heart ... haha!

Happy Birthday !!!

It was DH's birthday on Monday. We went to some fancy french restaurant (L'espalier). I've decided that the people who go there fit this profile 1) celebrating birthday 2) celebrating anniversary 3) celebrating company expense account! The food was pretty yummy, particularly memorable were the cheese course and this wine that is supposedly only bottled for the restaurant. We were quite fascinated by the creamy taste and vanilla after taste hmmm but I don't know much about wine.

Gone Sailing

Now that I am about to graduate, I finally signed up for free sailing lessons at school. DH and I went last weekend. I'm sure you want to know if we capsized? HA...no we didn't! YAY! I cannot emphasize how much I did not want to fall into the cess pool Charles river. Not to mention that it was chilly and the water was freezing.

Anyway I think nature and me aren't buddies. The winds were really strong. Thankfully hubs and I worked out a good routine where I was the crew and he the skipper. I liked that set up since I can make sure we weren't zipping around like maniacs :P and anyway I can't seem to get the boat to turn right sigh

But now my back hurts from all the ducking!

I picked the Ken Done one for my iGoogle for old times sake :) My koala pencil case was all the rage in secondary school.

Sea Squirt

We ate this at a Korean restaurant last week. Sashimi style. I remember seeing it recently on Bizarre foods with Andrew Zimmer (Chile) and thinking it was the most disgusting thing ever. Sea squirt is like a gigantic zit that you squeeze and pus squirts out. YUCK.

How "lucky" we were to try it! Along with sea cucumber sashimi. Hrmmm

Anyway the verdict is sea cucumber is better cooked. And sea squirt is "good for health" :P BTW The appearance of a sea squirt is also so awful that I can't bear to put a photo of it on my blog.

I feel traumatized.

Is like dating. You feel guilty leading them on, especially when you aren't that interested. But then you do it anyway cuz it feels nice to be wanted. :P But all is fair in business right?

Shoes Glorious Shoes

I had so much fun in the Havaiana store that I forgot to take photos. I bought 4 pairs. A brown brazil flag one for the hubs, a bejeweled graphite one, a patterned one, and a wedged one for my cousin. There were so many choices it was hard to choose. Oh did I already mention that the coolest part is you can custom bejewel your flip flops. Classy ? No, but fun? YES!

I don't really know why I need so many flip flops ...


The ones I custom jeweled. :)


Oh and bonus score at my guilty pleasure store, Target. $5 jelly flats. These shall be my rainy day shoes.

Oi from Rio

I am back! Brazil was awesome. A last trip before graduation and going back to the real world? Sniff. First stop was the beach. Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon are all along the same stretch. The beach was nice, but I think I like the cape town beach better :P



The swimming gear of choice in Brazil is the Speedo! Preferred regardless of body type. Of course no trip to Brazil is complete without a visit to Christ the Redeemer.



And a trip to Maracana to watch a soccer match! Though there is evidence to show that I fell asleep during the game. Hey that's what happen when you take the red eye.
